Loving Relating Encouraging
Loving Relating Encouraging is a ministry that seeks to relate to persons at the point of their greatest needs through the establishment of meaningful caring relationships. We tie this to the life and total ministry of the local church. The ministry has two major aims. One is to lead persons into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The second is to lead others into a meaningful life of discipleship and servanthood in a local church. LRE's major emphasis is ministering to the needs of others and establishing ongoing relationships. This ministry patiently demonstrates caring for the needs of others. These needs may be physical or spiritual. When involved with this approach, one learns to show love to others regardless of their response to that love. Everyone has needs. Discovering and meeting the needs of others is not done through quick and easy programs. The discovery of needs comes through diligent service and careful listening. To be effective in using the principles of LRE, we must work hard to be relationally sensitive, to build bridges of communication, and to demonstrate the love of Christ in action.
Whom do we visit?
Everyone God allows us to visit. We visit elderly shut-ins, worship visitors, active members, and school families. Everyone is important!
Some need a hug.
Some need prayer support.
Some need spiritual questions answered.
Pastor John cannot visit every household or personally meet every need. We, as a congregation, working together, can build on relationships, meet needs, and trust God with the long-term spiritual results.
When do we meet?
We meet every Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m., in the church Library.
Can anyone from the congregation be involved?
Yes, there is always a need for more visiting teams and more prayer partners.
And He said to him, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the first and foremost commandment. The second is like it: YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF." Matthew 22:37-39
