UMW NEWS

UMW

The UMW is starting off the New Year with wonderful plans and programs for a very fulfilling year! On Sunday, January 29th the new slate of 2012 UMW Officers and Committees will be Dedicated during the Church Service. We are very blessed to have such dedicated women at Trinity to serve the Lord in many ways including serving as a UMW Officer or serving on a UMW Committee. As members of UMW we celebrate and commit to supporting United Methodist Women's local, national and global mission outreach projects.

We hope that many of you can attend the upcoming "TUMM/UMW" Winter Gathering Brunch with the "Sweet Adelines" chorus group entertainment. The "Sweet Adeline" will perform in the Sanctuary at 10:30am and then we will gather in the Great Room at 11:15am for the wonderful Lunch cooked and served by the Trinity United Methodist Men. This event has grown to be a Fun time of Fellowship with the TUMM and UMW working together. The UMW Secret Sisters will reveal there secret to each other after the Lunch. Tickets are on Sale now during Coffee Fellowship time at Church. Call Marcia Pedersen with any questions #860-298-8922

MARK YOUR CALENDARS
UMW RUMMAGE SALE

The United Methodist Women would like you to MARK YOUR 2012 CALENDARS WITH THE NEW DATES FOR THE 2012 RUMMAGE SALES

SPRING RUMMAGE SALE is Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21 from 9:30am-1:30pm both days.

FALL RUMMAGE SALE will be Friday, October19th and Saturday, October 20th from 9:30am-1:30pm both days.

The New Rummage Sale Coordinators this year are Michelle Boyton and Cynthia Lally and they have already started the planning process.

The UMW has changed the dates to April and October Sales because there will be no School at TCS during those dates.

The UMW is very appreciative of the entire Trinity Family in being involved in the Rummage Sales from donating goods, to helping setup or cleanup to donating Baked Goods and donating time in helping during the Sale. We really appreciate the Prayer Support also that turns these Rummage Sales into money that we have to give to all the Missions that UMW supports throughout the year.

Thank-you in advance for your Support! Please feel free to Call Michelle Boyton or Cynthia Lally with any questions!

The UMW would like to publicly THANK the Trinity family for supporting and donating towards the December Mission Projects. We assembled 25 Beautiful Christmas Gift Baskets for the Women in the Youth Challenge Program in Hartford and delivered them the week of Christmas. The baskets were filled with lovely and practical gifts for the Women. Also the UMW Social Action Committee collected items on the "Mitten Tree" in December. We delivered 80 items including mittens, scarves, hats and socks to the Windsor Social Services office to be given to families in need in Windsor.

Coming UMW Program-MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

On Saturday, March 10th,2012 the UMW has a Guest Speaker coming to Trinity. At 10:00am in the Sanctuary, Seth Johnson will share his Testimony from Mission Trip work in China. Seth Johnson currently is a minister at Faith Baptist Church in Manchester and he went on a Mission Trip to China last year. Men and Women and youth are invited to attend. There will be a PotLuck Luncheon at 11:00am following the program. Lunch will be held in the Great Room. Childcare will be provided upon request.

A MOTHER'S PRAYER

Make me a wise mother, O Lord. Keep me calm and give me patience to bear the small, irritating things in the daily routine of life. Give me tolerance and understanding to bridge the gulf between my generation and that of my children.

Let me not be too ready to guide my children’s stumbling feet, but allow me to be ever near to bind their bruises. Give me a sense of humor that I may laugh with them but never at them. Let me refrain from preaching with words; let me show by example instead.

Keep me from forcing their confidences, but give me a sympathetic ear when my children come to me. Make me humble. Keep my children close to me, O Lord, though miles may separate us. And let Thy light so shine upon me that they, too, will perceive Thy glory. Amen.
