UNITED METHODIST WOMEN
Trinity's United Methodist Women are getting ready for an exciting year in 2015. Most of our officers have remained the same for 2015. We are blessed to have such wonderful and dedicated women on our board.
Our first Program of the year will be Debbie Weissenburger on Saturday January 3 at 10 a.m. Debbie will be discussing her work in Chad Africa. I hope you are all able to join us for this wonderful presentation. We will also be having a short pledge service and secret sister reveal. You will be able to sign up for a secret sister for 2015. This is a wonderful card ministry that provides encouragement and love to the lives of your sisters in Christ. Please pray about participating in this ministry.
I would like to Praise our Dear Lord and also thank all of you because through your pledges and participation in our fund raising efforts, we were able to add additional missions and spiritual growth opportunities to our 2015 budget. We are able to help the Hearth & Home fund, give support to some of the women & teens going on the Roblealto Mission trip and purchase a few tickets to the Farewell tour of Women of Faith. I have been to Women of Faith on numerous occasions and little compares to the spiritual growth I receive in those two days. If you would like to attend and need some assistance with the ticket, please contact me. We were also blessed to be able to add additional funding to feed the homeless at Bushnell Park and help with the cost of South Park dinners. We have also increased funding to the Windsor food, fuel and weekend food backpack & summer feeding program. Lastly, we changed some of the line items receiving funds to ensure they all are treated with respect and given the same amounts. There is much need everywhere, and we have been led by our Dear Lord to treat each organization equally.
"Honest scales and balances are from the LORD; all the weights in the bag are of his making."
"Mary did what she could for Jesus by anointing Him with the perfume…."
Let's all do what we can to make 2015 a successful year.
I look forward to a wonderful year of fellowship with all of you.
With all His Grace & Blessings,
Mary Ellen Scott
A MOTHER'S PRAYER
Make me a wise mother, O Lord. Keep me calm and give me patience to bear the small, irritating things in the daily routine of life. Give me tolerance and understanding to bridge the gulf between my generation and that of my children.
Let me not be too ready to guide my children’s stumbling feet, but allow me to be ever near to bind their bruises. Give me a sense of humor that I may laugh with them but never at them. Let me refrain from preaching with words; let me show by example instead.
Keep me from forcing their confidences, but give me a sympathetic ear when my children come to me. Make me humble. Keep my children close to me, O Lord, though miles may separate us. And let Thy light so shine upon me that they, too, will perceive Thy glory. Amen.
