UMW December News
As we approach the season of the birth of our Savior, I would like us all to remember the Love our Dear Lord has for us. Let's try to share that love with those around us. Remember to be kind to all you encounter. Doing little things like bringing a cup of cocoa to a Salvation Army worker, calling one of your elderly neighbors just to check on them or if they are alone, offering to share a meal together. It's the little things that mean so much and show the Love of our Lord and Savior. This time of year is extremely difficult for many; all it takes is a little kindness to brighten someone's day. The address for Holiday Cards for Heroes is on the UMW bulletin Board in Fellowship Hall and in the following article. In this Season of Giving, please remember those who sacrificed so much for our country!
Our December program will be on Sunday, Dec. 8th at 12:30 in the great room. Our guest speaker will be Kim Larkin, gourmet chocolate maker from Cheshire, CT. She will be bringing delicious samples of chocolate, cheeses and other gourmet goodies. Tickets are $7.00; teens and children can attend at no charge. The tickets will be on sale in fellowship hall for the next few weeks. Please get your tickets early; you won't want to miss out on this tasty event. Only a limited number of tickets will be available the day of the event.
A short pledge service will follow the program. We ask all the woman of Trinity to pray that we receive enough funds through one-time donations or pledges so we will be able to continue to provide inspiring, enlightening programs and bring guest speakers to Trinity that help everyone with our spiritual growth. addition to providing programs, a portion of the pledge fund is also used to meet our district pledge obligations. Your prayers and donations are a Blessing to us. Thank you all!
I have received many recipes for the cookbook. During December we will be proof reading the recipes; by the end of the December, we will be sending them all to the publisher. If you would like to contribute recipes, please contact me at 860-745-7180 or you may email the recipes to me: Mes1050@cox.net. I would like to try to have all the recipes by Dec. 1st with an absolute deadline of Dec. 7th. Please share your favorite recipes for our cookbook.
Thank you all for your continued support for woman and children in our community and the world around us.
With His Blessings,
Mary Ellen Scott, UMW President

The collection dates for 2013 are November 18-25 at the Wintonbury Church, Bloomfield. Peter and Mary Ellen Scott will be the coordinators at our church again this year. We will collect boxes here at Trinity and deliver to Wintonbury.
Families and individuals are encouraged to fill shoeboxes with toys for boys and girls around the word.
More information will be coming shortly. For now, start collecting small gifts and toys suitable for children.
If you have any questions, please call the Scotts @ 860-745-7180. Thank you for your support!
A MOTHER'S PRAYER
Make me a wise mother, O Lord. Keep me calm and give me patience to bear the small, irritating things in the daily routine of life. Give me tolerance and understanding to bridge the gulf between my generation and that of my children.
Let me not be too ready to guide my children’s stumbling feet, but allow me to be ever near to bind their bruises. Give me a sense of humor that I may laugh with them but never at them. Let me refrain from preaching with words; let me show by example instead.
Keep me from forcing their confidences, but give me a sympathetic ear when my children come to me. Make me humble. Keep my children close to me, O Lord, though miles may separate us. And let Thy light so shine upon me that they, too, will perceive Thy glory. Amen.
