As we approach the season of the birth of our Savior, I would like us all to remember the Love our Dear Lord has for each and everyone. Let's try to share that love with those around us. Remember to be kind to all you encounter. Doing little things like bringing a salvation army worker a cup of cocoa, calling one of your elderly neighbors just to check on them or offering a meal if they are alone. It's the little things that mean so much and show the Love of our Lord and Savior. This time of year is extremely difficult for many; all it takes is a little kindness to brighten someone's day.
Our December program will be Sunday Dec 7 at 12:30 PM with a luncheon in Fellowship Hall, followed by a performance by 10 year-old piano prodigy, Benjamin Buck, in the Sanctuary at 1:30 PM. This is a free and wonderful event so please come out to enjoy this special afternoon of music. If you have not been called and would like to attend, please contact Jeannine Gilman.
With the Holidays fast approaching, please think of purchasing UMW cookbooks as gifts for a nominal price of $16.00 each for your family and friends. One hundred percent of the proceeds for the remainder of the books go to support missions in our church and community. Please see me if you would like to purchase one or more.
I would also like to thank everyone who came out to support our November program on Human Trafficking. We learned so much about this horrific problem going on right here in our own backyard. If you would like to read the Vanity Fair article written about Detective Scates and her groundbreaking work, please contact me at mescott1211@gmail.com and I will forward you the article. We were blessed to collect a retiring offering to help Love 146 support the wonderful mission of helping to rebuild the lives of these girls that are rescued.
Thank you all for your continued support for woman and children in our community and the world around us.
With His Blessings,
Mary Ellen Scott
UMW President

Make me a wise mother, O Lord. Keep me calm and give me patience to bear the small, irritating things in the daily routine of life. Give me tolerance and understanding to bridge the gulf between my generation and that of my children.

Let me not be too ready to guide my children’s stumbling feet, but allow me to be ever near to bind their bruises. Give me a sense of humor that I may laugh with them but never at them. Let me refrain from preaching with words; let me show by example instead.

Keep me from forcing their confidences, but give me a sympathetic ear when my children come to me. Make me humble. Keep my children close to me, O Lord, though miles may separate us. And let Thy light so shine upon me that they, too, will perceive Thy glory. Amen.
