A DVD/discussion study by Jim Cymbala, the pastor of the Brooklyn Tabernacle.
Come join Joan Gerlach on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 10:00 as she begins this new study.
In this study you will not only learn about the person of the Holy Spirit, you will learn:
How to make room for the Spirit's action in your life & in your church.
How God wants to work through your gifts & talents to enable you to do what only He can do.
How to listen for the voice of the Spirit in prayer & how to apply God's Word to your life.
How the Spirit can bring healing to your body, your emotions, & your relationships.
How a life lived in the presence of the Spirit can transform the church & the world.
How your church can become a place where people regularly experience God's presence & His power.
Please contact Joan Gerlach if you are interested in participating in this study

Lent Begins February 18
Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent, comes on February 18, 2015. We will hold a Traditional Worship Service at 7:00 PM and distribute ashes. We Christians observe Lent for 40 days (excluding Sundays) to examine our spiritual condition and to strive to improve our relationship with God.
Lent is also a period of spiritual preparation for Easter Sunday, the greatest day on the Christian calendar.
It's important that each Christian practice spiritual disciplines to "show that you are a letter of Christ … written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts." (2 Corinthians 3:3)

Confirmation Classes are Coming
It has been the tradition at Trinity that our 8th & 9th grade students participate in the Confirmation experience and officially join the church and confirm their baptism vows on Pentecost Sunday.
We would like to invite all 8th & 9th grade Trinity youth and any others in higher grades who have not been Confirmed to our Confirmation Orientation on Sunday February 8 at 9:40 AM. Pastor would like parents/guardians to attend this Orientation as well. He will go over our schedule, expectations and answer questions.
Confirmation Sunday is May 24, 2015. Please set this date aside now.
We are also looking for Confirmation Mentors to assist in the process. Mentors will commit to meeting with their student and review and discuss topics that will be preassigned. If you have a heart to be a Mentor to one of our fantastic kids, please let Pastor John know ASAP.

We are looking for parents and chaperons to volunteer to accompany the teens on this retreat. We need 4 adults to attend!
Feeding the Hungry in Bushnell Park
Trinity is continuing the partnership with Christ Cathedral Church in Hartford to feed the homeless and indigent people in Bushnell Park on Saturday afternoons. Many Hartford area churches take a turn preparing and serving lunches, and we will have responsibility for four days in 2015:
January 31, April 25, July 25, and October 24.
Help will be needed to bake cookies, brownies or bars, make sandwiches, pack lunches, load/unload the truck or cars and serve lunch.
Baking is done in advance of the day and lunches are made and assembled at the church, generally beginning at approximately 1 PM. Serving is generally done by 3:15 – 3:30 and we carpool each way.
If you would like more information or would like to help with any of the process, please contact Donna Myers 860-688-7230. We would love to have you join us in this fun, fulfilling outreach!

Trinity Men's Mission Trip March 7-14, 2015
Red Bird Mission
Guys at Trinity have been talking about doing another mission trip in the states – here's a good opportunity. Red Bird Mission is a well-established Methodist organization located in Southeastern Kentucky. They minister to the people of this impoverished area of Appalachia. The Red Bird staff arranges various projects involving residential dwellings that need repairs, renovations, updating, improvements and necessary additions and maintenance. A portion of the $375.00 fee goes to cover the cost of materials.
We plan to rent vehicles and drive to Red Bird Mission. For more information, trip costs and to get on the list contact Pastor Skip Eggimann at email@example.com or 860-688-9245 ext. 104
