Confirmation Classes are Here!

It has been the tradition at Trinity that our 8th & 9th grade students participate in the Confirmation experience and officially join the church and confirm their baptism vows on Pentecost Sunday.
Confirmation Sunday is June 14, 2015. Please set this date aside now.
We are also looking for Confirmation Mentors to assist in the process. Mentors will commit to meeting with their student and review and discuss topics that will be preassigned. If you have a heart to be a Mentor to one of our fantastic kids, please let Pastor John know ASAP.

Trinity Men's
Mission Trip

March 7-14, 2015
Red Bird Mission

Guys at Trinity have been talking about doing another mission trip in the states. Red Bird Mission is a well-established Methodist organization located in Southeastern Kentucky. They minister to the people of this impoverished area of Appalachia. The Red Bird staff arranges various projects involving residential dwellings that need repairs, renovations, updating, improvements and necessary additions and maintenance. A portion of the $375.00 fee goes to cover the cost of materials.
Prayers for travel mercies and God's blessings are appreciated.
We plan to rent vehicles and drive to Red Bird Mission. For more information or questions, please contact Pastor Skip Eggimann at skipjte@juno.com or 860-688-9245 ext. 104.

ONE GREAT HOUR OF SHARING

MARCH 15, 2015

Together, we reach children, families and communities who have experienced devastation in the wake of disaster.

Because you give, the United Methodist Church's compassionate response to human suffering continues today:
When tornadoes ripped through Oklahoma, we responded
When children in Zimbabwe lost parents to AIDS, we responded
When a massive tsunami devastated lives in Japan, we responded
And when the next mass crisis occurs, we will be prepared to respond.
UMCOR will be able to offer aid in Jesus' name to those who suffer because United Methodists give through One Great Hour of Sharing.  In fact, it's your generous giving that allows us to respond when disaster strikes.
Gifts to One Great Hour of Sharing go toward UMCOR's basic expenses so that 100% of all gifts designated to specific programs and relief projects can go to those programs. Please give generously. Donation envelopes will be in the bulletin. Please bring your donation to church on Sunday March 15.
"And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8)
If contributing by check, please make the check out to TUMC and put "One Great Hour of Sharing" in the memo section. Thank you!

Feeding the Hungry in Bushnell Park

Trinity is continuing the partnership with Christ Cathedral Church in Hartford to feed the homeless and indigent people in Bushnell Park on Saturday afternoons.  Many Hartford area churches take a turn preparing and serving lunches, and we will have responsibility for four days in 2015:

April 25, July 25, and October 24.

Help will be needed to bake cookies, brownies or bars, make sandwiches, pack lunches, load/unload the truck or cars and serve lunch.
Baking is done in advance of the day and lunches are made and assembled at the church, generally beginning at approximately 1 PM.  Serving is generally done by 3:15 – 3:30 and we carpool each way.
If you would like more information or would like to help with any of the process, please contact Donna Myers 860-688-7230.  We would love to have you join us in this fun, fulfilling outreach!
